I’m writing this on a plane as I leave Nashville. This is my second time in the city and I’ve seen it has changed A LOT. It feels like a big city now. I don’t mean that in a backhanded, disrespectful way. Nashville had something buzzing about it many years ago when I first came. Now, it feels like it has “arrived”. Bunch this with Bitcoiners descending upon the city from literally all over the world, and it’s a fiesta every day.
After being invited by the Stacks Foundation to speak at the Bitcoin Builders Conference, which is a conference a day before the main Bitcoin2024 conference, I prepared my presentation, which I will share at the end of this newsletter. The full talk was recorded, and when it becomes available, I will share it on my Twitter / X account.
While waiting for my talking slot, I was enamored by the number of announcements, talent, collaboration, and forward thinking taking place in the Bitcoin L2 community. Investors I spoke with were eager to continue to invest in the Bitcoin + Bitcoin L2 space. Founders doing double duty of having a business while working to make ends meet were strategizing on how to make the leap of being full time in Web3. People were actively engaged in multiple sessions around data, investment, development, innovation, smart contracts, and more. When I left the venue, I used ride sharing apps and every conversation turned into how people could learn more about Bitcoin.
As I prepare for the rest of my travels this year, including to South Africa in September to take part in W3Africa / W3Node, I am thankful for the time to speak at the Bitcoin Builders Conference in Nashville, TN. While I missed former President Trump’s speech due to the schedule of my flight, I know that Bitcoiners in Nashville made history.
Lastly, as promised, here is my presentation. Remember, I will share the video soon!
