In 2023, I found myself on Twitter / X and I saw people talking about a new way to leverage artificial intelligence. OpenAI had taken the world by storm and ChatGPT was everywhere. Product Hunt. News outlets. Capital Hill. It’s like you couldn’t escape it.
I don’t remember who it was, but I saw this thing called “AutoGPT”. No branding. Nothing fancy. All I saw on Twitter / X was a repo link and I clicked it. I was floored.
AutoGPT enabled the ability to give ChatGPT internet access and deploy it like an agent to build anything for you in an autonomous way. I tried it and was impressed!
I saw that AutoGPT was looking for sponsors. As a bootstrapped startup founder, I know that every dollar counts, but I felt like God wanted me to donate to AutoGPT.
After speaking with the NoCodeClarity team, we decided to sponsor it. I donated and then headed to sleep feeling good about helping another indie builder try to change the world, even if it was only a couple dollars. I woke up the next day and it was viral.
The Golden Rule was the only thing I had in mind. I know how hard it is to build something without funding or support, especially if it’s never been seen before.
Viral or not, we only wanted to help the AutoGPT team build the future. This is the power of open source projects. The community can choose to rally around a vision. It was cool to be able to help another person while we were building in stealth almost all of 2023. This helped lift our spirits because we saw instant impact on our dollars.
In full disclosure, we do not sponsor AutoGPT anymore. They don’t need it now!
But to be able to help someone else when they needed it was an amazing feeling.
Now, AI agents have gone from terminals to subscriptions! Imagine being able to program a swarm of AI agents based on your spreadsheets or your content and they operate based on your logic. This is not only possible, but you’re able to set it up within 10 minutes and start to build an AI team starting at $97 on Sintra, for example.
In Web3, the Gemach team is integrating AI agents and I know of a working group that I am a member of called AI BTC that is integrating AI agents. Even NoCodeClarity is integrating AI agents! I believe that agents, like blockchains, will be integrated in everything we humans interact with on a daily basis, and we won’t even know it.
Even the Bible says that “in all thy getting, get understanding”. I am passionate about education. This is why events and meetups are so important, because education is a gateway.
I was honored to partner with Social X MKE for the “Code With Clarity” event where Dr. Nadiyah Johnson of the Milky Way Tech Hub and myself unpacked AI for a crowd. I even did two live demos for people to see NoCodeClarity Beta and how to use AI. 💻
